Are you ready to challenge yourself, learn new skills, and make unforgettable memories? The Duke of Edinburgh's Award offers young people a chance to grow through exciting activities and personal development. This September, you can sign up for the Bronze, Silver, or Gold levels through the Sylvia Beaufoy Centre. Whether you are starting Year 9 or looking to join the Gold group in June, there are opportunities waiting for you.
What is The Duke of Edinburgh's Award?
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is a well-known youth program that encourages young people to develop skills, get active, volunteer, and explore the outdoors. It is divided into three levels:
Bronze for those starting Year 9
Silver for those who have completed Bronze or are in Year 10
Gold for older participants, usually in Year 11 or above
Each level requires commitment across four sections: Volunteering, Physical, Skills, and Expedition. Gold also includes a Residential section. Completing the Award shows dedication, resilience, and a willingness to learn—qualities that stand out on college and job applications.
